Calligraphy

Japanese Calligraphy – Shodo

Shodo is the art of calligraphy, which is the writing of Chinese characters with a brush in India ink.Particular emphasis is placed on the shades of the ink, the movement of the wring brush and the

combination of the strokes. It is practiced to cultivate one’s inner self.

Otedama – Juggling Bags Game

The image above is what my elder son wrote. It has been three years since I started calligraphy. He showed me so well that he could write it well.I and my husband also learned calligraphy when I was little. The picture above,It’s written Otedama. It is a play that throws and picks up some sort of small bags (otedama) containing azuki beans(Red beans), etc. while singing songs. The form of play is different little by little depending on the culture in each place.Like Juggling.

Calligraphy Maker Brush

When I was little I had a calligraphic brush when I was learning. Of course my son has his own brush as I write it every week. Now I can write a letter well using a brush pen, as I wrote with a real brush.
The brush pen is also sold on our Ebay site. If you are interested please have a look.
